This was such an incredibly cool night. And, it probably wasn't, but this particular beach felt much different than the others I had visited on my trip to Oregon/Washington thus far. It was spread out, and really flat. There wasn't a single big rock to be found and there were gorgeous sand dunes with sea oats spread out behind me. What a gorgeous place. And there were all sorts of 'rivers' like the one you can see in this photo. They slowly snaked their way from untold places towards the ocean. And strangely, their flow wasn't smooth. The water almost pulsated. Flowing in a way that the banks were almost overrun and then subsiding to barely moving before becoming active again. But, these weren't normal rivers. They were wide and knee deep at most. They were clear and smooth sand was the only thing in their path. I loved it here. That is, until I realized the sun had set and I hadn't really paid much attention to the trail I took out to the beach (it was a good 20 minute hike, at a decent speed). Shoot. The temperature was dropping surprisingly fast and like always, I couldn't avoid the shot that required me to get in the water so my jeans & shoes were soaked. Then, I remembered I took a photo with my iphone near where I parked. The iPhone geotags it's photos. Can I view that? Pretty soon, I was looking at a relatively accurate map of where the car was and where I was on the beach. I know I would've found my car without my phone. Or, I could've easily gotten to a road from where I was and found where I had parked from there. But, the nerdy side of me loved being able to find my car so easily with just my phone. I was really happy to finally be back at my rental car with the seat heater on! Truth is... I'd give a lot to be back at this spot again.
